Power to perform

SD stands for Severe Duty. That means your 114SD is built to perform in severe environments doing severe jobs, day after day. It can handle hard work because of smart design and sturdy construction. It's a simple formula. But a lot of engineering, materials and commitment go into it. If you're ready for the 114SD, it's definitely ready for you.

Bluetec SCR for your bottom line

Improve fuel economy up to five percent.* Boost engine longevity. Lower lifecycle costs. Detroit's BlueTec® SCR emissions technology, integrated with the DD platform of engines, not only helps you save on fuel, but reduces wear and tear on internal engine parts. You can even get an optional 1-Box design for a clear back-of-cab for close body mounting. It's all about the bottom line.

Steer. Clear.

The 2,500 square-inch windshield and contoured hood slope offer much-needed job site visibility. And, if a driver gets into a tight spot, the 114SD's tight turning radius, with an up to 50-degree wheel cut, provides exceptional maneuverability.

Key Features
 Optimized throught and throught

Packaged under the cab is the all-important under-step selective catalytic reduction (SCR) aftertreatment system that reduces particulate matter and nitrogen oxides according to EPA 2010 regulations. Requiring fewer changes under the hood, the aftertreatment system design means less stress on the engine, fewer active regenerations and improved fuel economy. This translates to less downtime and more profit for you.

 Maximum output for body accessories

Front engine, rear engine and transmission power take-off (PTO) options allow hydraulic packaging to suit any specific application. Smart PTO packaging allows a cleaner installation behind the cab, while providing consistent and maximum power output. An up-to 70-gallon fuel tank and a six-gallon DEF tank can be combined to maximize your front-axle loading and provide a clear back of cab chassis-mounting envelope for lift axles and ancillary body equipment.

 Pup some backbone into it

The 114SD is tough. Test after test proves it. The components, systems and entire truck platform have been subjected to an array of virtual and physical tests to ensure our trucks deliver the expected function, performance and reliability. The result is a durable and safe cab that meets stringent A-pillar impact, rollover and back wall impact tests. Plus, the vocational chassis backbone includes a complete offering of single and double channel frame rails. The result is a tensile strength of up to 120,000 psi and an RBM ratio up to 4.4 million inch-pounds per rail. So it can handle the abuse of the toughest job sites. No problem.

 Severe Duty. Superior Ergonomics.

Just because a job is tough doesn't mean it has to be difficult. That's why we included so many operational efficiencies in the design of the 114SD's cab interior. Easy-to-reach controls and easy-to-read LED-backlit gauges offer ample customization to your specialized needs and preferences. The automotive-style wing dash and spacious cab interior provide superior ergonomics. And the 2,500 square-inch windshield and downward sloping cab hood result in outstanding visibility. Even getting in and out of the cab is easier with our low step-in height, 62-degree door opening and strategically placed exterior and interior grab handles.
