Great Job Site Performance

The 108SD has a 42” set-back axle position for efficient weight transfer to the front axle. With a wheel cut up to 50 degrees and a swept-back bumper, this truck can easily maneuver tight work sites.

 
Key Features
 Ready and Reliable

The 108SD has special features that are made for severe environments, like a side-of-hood air intake. In combination with optional pre-cleaner, the new air cleaner holds 20% more dust and debris, and is easily accessible. This set-up offers improved resistance to engine contamination, and the larger filter extends maintenance intervals.

 Solid & Strong

The 108SD features a tough-as-nails frame. It offers C-channel frame rails with or without a frame rail liner for additional reinforcement if needed. Heavy duty cross members also can be installed with high strength Grade 8 hex bolts or optional Huck Bolt chassis fasteners. So, whatever terrain you tackle, the 108SD can take it.

 Innovative Electronics

The 108SD also incorporates a proprietary SmartPlex™ Electrical System, which provides unmatched flexibility for TEMs when configuring a truck to suit specific body installations. SmartPlex is a multiplex electrical system that simplifies chassis-to-body electrical integration and significantly reduces the number of wires. SmartPlex adds expansion capabilities and allows custom programming for each customer's unique requirements, with no software to buy and no additional tools required.

Tested for Safety

The steel-reinforced aluminum cab is strong and corrosion resistant. It's been designed to meet or exceed extensive US and European crash testing requirements.

 Ease and Ergonomics

Sometimes a driver has work to do inside the truck, too — like scheduling, billing and other paperwork. The Freightliner M2 112 offers plenty of storage space. Items can be placed in the overhead console or in an optional, floor-mounted compartment that features a writing surface, printer provision and 12-volt power outlet.

 Start with Safety

Getting in and out of the cab shouldn't be a chore. In fact, we made it safe and easy. The low step-in height with slip-resistant dual steps prevents accidents. The wide, 62-degree door opening and strategically-placed grab handles make it easy. Additionally, the 108SD offers door-mounted mirrors with optional heat and remote control. Clear or amber fog lights are mounted under the bumper. And optional daytime running lights and swivel-mounted utility lights are available.

 Comfort and Convenience

The 108SD cab interior is spacious, with ample elbow and leg room. The optional extended and crew cab models provide even more room and flexible seating. For the driver, we've built in plenty Of ergonomic features, like a tilt/telescoping steering wheel and an automotive-style dash. Instruments and controls are within easy reach. And our proprietary SmartPlex™ Electrical System provides switch flexibility for enhanced operator efficiency.
